Buford Gutter Solutionists
Gutters for Buford, from the old Leather City streets to the newest subdivisions
Buford was incorporated in 1872 along the new railroad, and for about a century the Bona Allen tannery made saddles, harness and shoes here, which is how the town earned the name the Leather City. Tannery Row, built as a shoe factory in 1919, still anchors downtown, and older houses line the streets around Main Street and Shadburn Avenue. Most of Buford is far newer: across 30518 and 30519 about 61 percent of homes went up in 2000 or later, and 80 percent are detached houses. That means most weeks we are hanging new 6-inch runs on two-story builder homes, with the occasional older porch roof fitted by hand, and on a few of the older downtown houses copper gutters are worth a look.
The north end of town reaches Lake Lanier, the reservoir formed when Buford Dam was completed on the Chattahoochee in 1956, and lots near the lake sit under loblolly pines, oaks and tulip poplars. Rain is the bigger story. The NOAA normal at the Buford 2.8 SSE station is 58.14 inches a year. July alone averages 6.19 inches, and June and January each bring 5.46. That much water has to go somewhere, and on sloped red clay lots from Hamilton Mill to the streets near Bogan Park we often send downspouts into underground drainage.
The Brothers That Just Do Gutters Northeast Atlanta is owned by Josh Bowie, and our home office is in Suwanee, a short drive from Buford, so jobs here get the same crew that works the rest of north Gwinnett. Our Solutionists form seamless gutters in your driveway, cut to each run, clean and flush old systems, reseal leaking corners, swap out soft fascia and install BroGuard and pine needle gutter guards. Estimates are free, written and no pressure, and we publish every review we get, good or bad.

Why the Brothers
Why Buford Homeowners Call the Brothers
Buford averages more than 58 inches of rain a year, so we size gutters and downspouts for the storms, not the average day.
Plenty of Buford homes still have their original 5-inch runs. We replace them with seamless 6-inch gutters formed on site to each wall.
Sloped red clay lots wash out fast. We extend downspouts or run them underground so water clears the foundation.
Josh Bowie owns the franchise, and our home office in Suwanee is a short drive from Buford. Call (770) 637-5130 for a free written estimate.

Often not. Many Buford homes built since 2000 came with standard 5-inch gutters. July averages 6.19 inches at the nearest NOAA station, much of it in short, hard storms, and long rear eaves and roof valleys can send more water than a 5-inch run carries, so it spills over the front edge. Moving to 6-inch seamless gutters with larger downspouts handles far more water. We measure the roof and tell you which runs actually need it.
If pines or oaks hang over your roof, guards usually pay for themselves. Lots near the lake and along Buford Dam Road tend to be wooded, and loblolly needles drop in every season. BroGuard is a fine stainless micro-mesh, so needles, leaves and sweetgum balls stay on top while rain goes through. Under heavy pine cover, plan on a light brush of the guard surface once or twice a year.
Usually the downspout is dumping water right at the wall, or a clogged gutter is overflowing above it. Red clay does not soak up water quickly, so it sits or runs back toward the house. We clear the gutter, check the pitch, and then extend the downspout or pipe it underground to daylight farther down the slope.
Twice a year works for most homes: once in late fall after the leaves are down and once in late spring after the pollen. Homes under heavy pine cover may need a third visit. With January and the summer months bringing the most rain here, the goal is to have clean gutters going into both.
