Dacula Gutter Solutionists
Gutters for Dacula, from Chinquapin Grove days to the subdivisions off University Parkway
Dacula started in the late 1800s as Chinquapin Grove, was briefly renamed Hoke in 1891 and was showing up on Georgia maps as Dacula by 1895, a name said to be drawn from the letters of Decatur and Atlanta. The town incorporated in 1905, and the Elisha Winn House nearby originally served as the Gwinnett County courthouse. Today the 30019 ZIP code reaches well past the city limits, and it is almost all houses: 95 percent detached, with 25 percent built in the 1990s in places like Ashton Wood and Windsong Park and 64 percent built since 2000. Gutters on those 1990s homes are near the end of their life, and on a porch or bay where looks count, copper gutters are worth a look.
Winder Highway runs through the middle of town and University Parkway skirts it to the south, with Little Mulberry Park, Harbins Park and Dacula Park spread across the area. The NOAA 1991 to 2020 normal at Dacula 2.1 NNW is 53.53 inches a year. June is the wettest month at 5.04 inches, January is close behind at 4.99, and December through February adds up to 14.61 inches, the most of any season. Big rear roofs on two-story houses push a lot of that water into a few downspouts, and on a sloping clay lot it heads straight for the foundation. We often carry those downspouts out with underground drainage.
Josh Bowie owns The Brothers That Just Do Gutters Northeast Atlanta, with the home office in Suwanee, so Dacula gets the same Gwinnett crews that work Lawrenceville and Buford. Our Solutionists form seamless gutters on the truck to the exact length of each run, flush out clogged systems, seal leaks, replace rotted boards and install BroGuard and pine needle gutter guards. Estimates are free and in writing, there is no sales pitch, and our reviews are out in the open for anyone to read.

Why the Brothers
Why Dacula Homeowners Call the Brothers
Dacula gets 14.61 inches from December to February, its wettest season, so we make sure the gutters are clear and sized before it starts.
We swap out 1990s gutters in Windsong Park with the same care we bring to upsizing runs on new houses near Brooks Station.
Big roofs funnel water to a few corners. We extend or bury downspouts so the clay around the foundation does not wash out.
Josh Bowie owns the franchise, and our home office in Suwanee is here in Gwinnett County. Call (770) 637-5130 to book a free written estimate.

Your Dacula gutter calendar
What Dacula gutters deal with through the year, and when to stay ahead of it.

Winter brings 14.61 inches, with January alone at 4.99. Clear the last oak leaves in early December so the rain has a path.
- Spring · Mar to MayPollen and catkins
March averages 4.92 inches as pine pollen and oak catkins coat the roof. A spring cleaning keeps outlets from packing shut.
- Summer · Jun to AugJune downpours
June is the wettest month at 5.04 inches. Watch for water sheeting over the front edge during storms and get it looked at.
- Fall · Sep to NovBefore the trees drop
Fall is the driest season at 12.14 inches, the best time to install guards or book a cleaning ahead of the leaf drop.

The aluminum usually holds up longer than the sealant at the corners and end caps, which dries out and lets go, and the hangers work loose over the years. About a quarter of the homes in ZIP code 30019 were built in the 1990s, so we see a lot of this. If the gutter metal is still sound, we reseal and rehang. If the seams keep opening or the fascia is soft, a new seamless system is the better spend, and we will show you why.
Winter is the wettest season at the Dacula 2.1 NNW station, averaging 14.61 inches from December through February, and it follows right on the heels of the fall leaf drop. If the leaves were not fully cleared, the outlets choke and water spills over the front. We clean and flush first, then check whether a big roof section needs a larger gutter or a second downspout.
Some do. Many houses built since 2000 have large two-story roofs with valleys that dump into one short run, and a 5-inch gutter there can overflow even when it is clean. Moving those spots to 6-inch seamless gutters with larger downspouts usually solves it. We measure the roof and only recommend the upgrade where it is needed.
Give it somewhere to go. A downspout that drops onto bare clay will cut a channel and soak the ground by the foundation. Longer extensions help on flat ground. On a slope we can run the downspout underground and let the water out well away from the house.
