Snellville Gutter Solutionists

Gutters for Snellville, from the old crossroads at 78 and 124 to the newer subdivisions

Snellville started as a store. Thomas Snell and James Sawyer, two young men from London, opened Snell and Sawyer’s Store here in the late 1800s, and the town received its state charter in 1923. It sits where U.S. 78 and Georgia 124 cross, and most of its growth came later: across 30039 and 30078, the 1980s are the biggest decade for housing at 26.8 percent, and the 1970s add another 15.4. That puts a lot of Snellville houses at 40 years old or more, often on a second or third set of gutters, with the trim behind them showing its age. Most of our work here is seamless aluminum, though for a front elevation that deserves it we also form copper gutters on site.

Snellville homes sit under a mix of oaks, sweetgums, tulip poplars and loblolly pines, and the older lots often have the biggest trees. The NOAA normal at the Loganville 4.5 SW station, just southeast of the city, is 51.20 inches a year. March and July tie for wettest at 4.81 inches, and January follows at 4.72, so heavy rain comes in winter and summer alike. Red clay sheds that water fast, and on sloping lots near Briscoe Park and along Lenora Church Road we often send downspouts into underground drainage.

Josh Bowie owns The Brothers That Just Do Gutters Northeast Atlanta, run from the home office in Suwanee with the same Gwinnett crews that serve Snellville. Our Solutionists form seamless runs on the truck, cut to each wall, clean and flush existing gutters, reseal corners, swap rotted fascia boards and install BroGuard and pine needle gutter guards. You get a free written estimate with no pressure, and we publish every review, good or bad.

Many Snellville houses are 40 years old or more, and so are some of their gutters. We replace them with seamless runs measured wall by wall.

02Fascia done right

Before new gutters go up we check the boards behind them and replace any soft fascia, so the new runs hang on sound wood.

03Two wet seasons

March and July both average 4.81 inches near Snellville, so we size gutters and outlets for spring rain and summer storms.

04Gwinnett based

Josh Bowie owns the franchise, and our home office is in Suwanee, here in Gwinnett County. Give us a call at (770) 637-5130 for a free written estimate.

Snellville Gutter Questions, Answered

Should I repair or replace the gutters on my older Snellville home?

It depends on how much is failing. A loose hanger or one leaking corner is a repair. If the runs sag in several places, leak at many seams or have pulled the fascia loose, replacement usually costs less over time. Much of Snellville was built in the 1970s and 1980s, so many homes are at that point now. We will show you what we find and give you both options in writing.

Why is the fascia behind my gutters soft?

Water has been getting behind the gutter. Clogs make it overflow toward the house, old seams leak onto the board, and a run that has pulled away lets rain drip straight down the wood. On older Snellville homes this has often gone on for years. We cut out the soft boards, put in new fascia and hang the new gutter tight to it.

Do gutter guards work under big oaks and sweetgums?

Yes, if they are the right kind. Big oak leaves sit on top of most guards, but sweetgum balls and pine needles get through coarse screens. BroGuard is a fine stainless micro-mesh, so all of it stays on top while rain passes through. You may want a quick brush of the surface once a year under heavy cover.

Where should my downspouts drain on a clay lot?

Well away from the house, and downhill. Red clay drains slowly, so water dumped at the foundation tends to pool or run back toward it. A longer extension or a splash block helps on a gentle slope. On steeper lots, or where the yard drains toward the house, we pipe the downspout underground to an outlet farther out.

Which parts of Snellville do you serve?

We cover ZIP codes 30039 and 30078, including the Towne Center and Main Street along U.S. 78, Centerville, Summit Chase, Norris Lake, Brookwood and the neighborhoods near Briscoe Park and Lenora Church Road. We work out of our home office in Suwanee. Call (770) 637-5130 and a Solutionist will come out with a free written estimate.
